Children of the AmericasIn face of Sweden's new policy on development and co-operation, SDGI launches an information campaign and announces co-operation with Swedish Cardiology Centre.
As part of a small scale local project SDGI announces co-operation with CityHeart- a cardiological centre in the heart of Stockholm which will throughout the fall and wither of 2007-2008 host photographs about children and development in Latin America.
CityHeart has made its walls available to creative expression since it was founded in January 2005. ‘Children of the Americas’ is however the first organized exhibit which seeks to promote greater awareness regarding development by raising issues on equity, opportunity and sustainability.
The photographs depict children from various countries and indigenous groups on the Latin American continent- from the highlands of Lake Titicaca and the fascinating community of Uros as well as Taquile in Peru, to the semi-autonomous community of Kuna Yala and Embera on the isthmus of Panama.
