Future and DreamsSustainable Development Group International in cooperation with CityHeart is providing a living space for Save the Children Sweden in an exhibition about children's dreams on security and their future.
Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need around the world. The Swedish Office is a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, comprising 28 national Save the Children organizations working in more than 110 countries to ensure the well-being of children in fulfilment of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. For more information about save the Children and their work in the world please consult their webpage.
During the following years the organization will have a thematic focus on education and eradication of violence in all its forms under the project ‘Rewrite the Future'. Save the children is currently working on advocacy but also disaster management and relief. Save the children is a politically independent organization which has enjoyed contributions from the Swedish Cooperation Agency (SIDA), private donors, as well as donations collected by the organization's 300 regional offices.
The three Stockholm based regional offices have since 1992 arranged annual art competitions for children. All contributions are judged by a jury which then selects 30 paintings to be exhibited at Skansen Open-Air Museum in Stockholm. The selection takes into consideration variations in expression and artistic technique.
The jury is comprised of well renowned artists, art critics, as well as members from Save the Chilrden. The thematic content varies each year. CityHeart is currently hosting selected works on 'security' and ‘the future'.
